About us
In recent years, several large protected areas have been established in Central Norway, comprising national parks, protected landscape areas and nature reserves. Through collaboration between public authorities and the business community, Blilyst will focus on possible business development in these protected areas.
The project “business in protected areas” is part of the development programme Blilyst, and is a public project run by municipal councils, county councils and county governors in the project area.
The purpose is to increase the value of protected areas in South Trøndelag and in neighbouring counties where these protected areas cross county boundaries. The project will facilitate the development of such areas as important resources for social, cultural, environmental and economic development, which provides a basis for employment and value creation based on natural heritage, while at the same time the areas are managed in a manner than preserves natural diversity. This may include facilitation measures for local development and mobilisation. Overall, the project will contribute to local development, settlement and added value.
The project will contribute to developing facilitation and collaboration projects that benefit industry practitioners, particularly within the fields of tourism and agriculture. It will also co-ordinate ongoing development projects, with emphasis on networking and the building of competence, as well as advising individual companies participating in the sub-projects.
Project Skarvan and Roltdalen National Park is supported by Blilyst, county governors in North and South Trøndelag, Nord-Trøndelag County and the municipalities Meråker, Stjørdal, Selbu and Tydal.
